About our upholsterer
Mark has studied upholstery under the Association of Master Upholsterers and Soft Furnishers (AMUSF) syllabus graduating from stage two, intermediate craft certificate, with distinctions in his practical work for both modern and traditional upholstery and furthered his knowledge by successfully completing AMUSF stage three; diploma, again excelling with distinctions in both modern and traditional upholstery techniques.

Mark is also an accomplished lampshade maker and continues to develop his skills through practical experience and work undertaken at our workshop.

  • From full traditionally upholstered rebuilds to refreshing and recovering, we can carefully and sympathetically repair and restore the upholstery on your traditional made furniture using the correct materials from natural fibres to traditional hessian and calico providing advice at all stages of a rebuild or restoration.

  • Often referred to as modern upholstery, furniture with a permanently foam base requires a different approach to how the piece is upholstered, we have the knowledge and skills to repair and revive, from replacing entire sections of foam to replacing worn out coverings with suitable upholstery fabrics.

  • The finishing touches are, to many people, the most important part of re-upholstery, it is the surface you see, the place where you sit and the moment you wow your guests as they enter a room. Built on the sound foundations of traditional or modern upholstery the importance of choosing the right fabric for your chair is often the most enjoyable but often the most difficult decision to make.

We can help guide you through the process of picking new and suitable fabrics for anything from a small footstool to an entire suite of furniture.
